Wedge-Tailed Eagle

The largest birds of prey on Flinders Island are the Wedge-Tailed Eagles. They are a rare sighting on Flinders Island as we only have a few pairs that breed in the Furneaux Group.

In this photo you can clearly see the nape on the neck which identifies this bird as one of the Tasmanian race of Eagles.

This is the first time that I have been able to get such photo's of a pair of Eagles together.
