Pelicans

The Pelican at the North East River can be seen most days lazing on the sand bars, that is until they see someone cleaning their fish at the boat ramp.

These birds will then come to the boat ramp for their share of the catch. They will come quite close and share any scraps that you will throw to them.

They are quite spectacular to watch as they feed in the river and graceful when they fly but their take off at times can be very comical.
